In SENIORS Category Ambernath United FC were crowned as winners, while TAK
& SON FC were the runners up.
In JUNIORS Category Evolution Football Club were winners and Mumbra Football Club were the runners up.
16 teams from across India participated in the Reformation Football Cup Seniors organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mumbra, JIH Youth Wing, Students Islamic Organization (SIO) and Ideal Relief Committee Trust (IRCT). This year’s event was a 2 day event, held in the day and night format at the Maulana Azad Stadium Mumbra and participation of teams from Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Assam in addition to teams from Mumbra, Mumbai City and Mumbai Metropolitan areas.
The tournament was sponsored by Gold Sponsor Shabbir Khan of SK Valley, Silver Sponsor Noor Mohammed of DZ City by Skyline Enterprises, Bronze Sponsors Shahid Khan of Zaffran Megamart & Alim Sir, Abdur Rehman Sir and Shakil Sir of Excellence Classes.
The co-sponsors of the event were IK Industrial Automation, Kausa Arts Bookstore & Stationeries, The Times Electronics, M3 Concretes and Intensity Gymnasium.
The event was supported by Thane
Municipal Corporation, while Al Hayat Hospitals Mumbra was the medical
partners.
Palande Madam, the sports officer of Thane Municipal Corporation graced the
event and complimented the organizers for the professional manner in which the
tournament was organized and also promised to support the event in the future.
“Objective of keeping sports event Reformation cup in Mumbra is to urge
students & youths to keep focus on becoming a complete personality physically
mentally emotionally, to instill interest in outdoor sports so youth can be
motivated to lead healthy life and competitive spirit. Also to keep students
& youths away from unhealthy addictions such as mobile games, social media,
drug abuse & other unhealthy activities.”
The stadium was filled to capacity with children, parents, sports & football fans. Many families with women and children came to see the event and the entire stadium wore a festive look. For some of the audience it was the first time viewing football in an actual stadium under lights. It was heartening to see the motivation amongst children, youngsters and the involvement of their parents.
All the audiences, sportspersons, sponsors
appreciated the organizers for organizing such a huge sports event in Mumbra
city. Sponsors also appealed to young footballers from the various academies to
keep their focus and work hard to act as ambassadors for their beloved city,
state & country.
